| March 13, 2006 |
Still Waters Private Hospital is currently under construction to create a second campus owned and operated by Pacific Sun Retirement Living. The new campus which will replace the existing Still Waters Private Hospital will be known as "The Village at Mill Creek." Joseph Benjamin Residence, which was rebuilt and reopened in October of 2004, will be the Assisted Living portion of the Village at Mill Creek campus. Joseph Benjamin Residence has a total of 50 Assisted and Supportive Housing suites. The second phase is scheduled to be complete in December of 2006 and will include 96 residential care units. The final stage of construction is to commence in early 2007 and will provide a village centre with amenities such as a town hall and bistro.

There are exciting changes beginning to take place at Westside Care Centre!
An addition of 40 residential care beds funded by the Interior Health Authority and 50 assisted living/independent suites will be added to the existing facility, which first opened it's doors in 1992.
After applying for a building permit in early January, construction of the new permanent parking commenced in mid January.
The planning for the new building went through several different building configurations before finally settling on the current blueprint. The new building will consist of a two-storey and a four-storey building connected by a second floor walkway.
The main entry of Westside Care Centre will also change with the new main entrance being accessible from Orlin Road.
We are eagerly anticipating this project and want to thank our wonderful Westside Care Centre staff in advance for their patience during the construction. |

It was a day of love and generous giving at every Pacific Sun building! One by one, candy grams were given out by staff members to their fellow co-workers. $1 at a time, a total of $235 was raised for the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia.
In addition to the candy grams, Pacific Sun Retirement Living contributed over $2500 to the Alzheimer Society in January for the Walk for Memories.
Thank you to all of the staff members who sent a candy gram to a fellow staff member or resident, you not only brightened someone's Valentine's Day, but you made a contribution towards creating a future without Alzheimer's. |
